We people never learn, do we? Same unfortunate things happen again and again, yet we don’t seem to notice they will repeat. Some would say ‘It’s just another day of bad luck’. I’d say we don’t consider our lessons learned seriously enough just to help us avoid them from repeating.
I just had my car’s mirror stolen a few days ago. I can’t say I never knew that would happen some day as I had never cared to install such a protecting device as the mirror frame. And yeah I can’t say I had been sure that the mirror would never be stolen. But now it happens! It upsets me, of course. There’s nothing I can do to get it back without paying, though. But I can say something about it–it’s a good lesson (from which we would probably not learn, again!).
Last year I had my laptop computer stolen. Similarly, if I had paid enough attention to lesson learned this unfortunate event wouldn’t have taken place.
I just wish I was more considerate about keeping my belongings in the safe environment. Now I hope this good old lesson of mine would be the last unfortunate thing I encountered.
